Privacy Policy

Overview

Roopik IDE is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or usage telemetry to external systems unless explicitly requested by the user.

Data Collection

Roopik IDE does not collect or transfer any user data to external systems unless specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it.

Telemetry

Telemetry features inherited from upstream open-source dependencies (VS Code, Roo Code) are disabled by default. Users can manually control telemetry settings through the IDE's settings panel. No data is sent unless the user explicitly enables these features.

AI Agent Data

When using external AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, etc.), your code and prompts are sent directly to the respective AI provider's API. Roopik does not intercept, store, or log this data. The data handling is governed by each AI provider's own privacy policy.

Browser Data

The embedded browser and external Chrome mode operate locally. Browsing data, cookies, and session information stay on your machine. In persistent Chrome profile mode, data is stored at~/.roopik/browser-profileand is never transmitted externally.
